One receiver with two channels allows one accessory to be connected to the remote control via the receiver. 

You would need two receivers if you required two garage doors to be operated on the remote. 

Hard wiring is needed from the garage door to the receiver, and then the receiver wirelessly syncs to the gate motor. 

You can sync a non-DEA garage door with a DEA gate motor and a DEA receiver.
