The APC-SG12W Heavy Duty 12V DC motor is a powerful unit built from reliable components consisting of all metal gears (no nylon or plastic) unlike most competitors models. The DC motor is fitted with a steel worm drive and works in conjunction with the metal transfer gearbox and metal pinnion to ensure the highest durability and strength in the operation of the sliding gate.
Designed in Australia, this system is engineered to last a long life and carries a full 12 months Warranty.
This Sliding gate motor is IP57 rated meaning that it can handle temporary water immersion of up to 1 metre (3 feet) of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. This makes it the ideal choice for users wanting maximum protection to their sliding gate motor and for areas which are flood prone. The motor does not have any protruding components and is completely concealed and water tight with all mechanical components built in undernath the motor cover. Please see further information below.
Magnetic Limit switches
The motor is fitted with magnetic limit switches to ensure two things:
1. A water tight seal around the motor to stop dust, water and insects from getting into the motor as there is no open areas or protuding components such as limit switches (magnetic limit switches built in underneath the motor cover).
2. Wear and Tear is minimised due to less mechanical workings.
Easy to use manual override with 3 keys supplied, simply unlock with the key, pull the lever and the gate will be free and can be opened manually in the case of an emergency or a power outage.
12V DC Motor with All Metal Gears (No Nylon or Plastic)
This Heavy Duty 12V DC motor is constructed of all solid metal gears. The worm drive, gearbox and pinnion are all constructed of solid metal ensuring strength and durability. Please see pictures above.
This Motor can handle heavy gates up to a maximum of 300kg. Please note: This gate motor can handle a sliding gate up to 300kg in weight, but this weight capacity is variable and based on the width of the gate, the design (open frame, cladded, colour bond sheet) and how level the ground is. All of these factors which differ in every installation must be taken into account and will determine the final capacity that this motor can handle for that particular installation. Low Consumption APC 12V Control Board
This smart control panel is easy to connect and easy to set up. It is built in underneath the motor cover allowing for a simple and compact installation.
The APC 4 button Remote Controls that are supplied can be used to operate different functions supported by the three channel control board.
Button 1 is for full gate operation
Button 2 is for using the pedestrian function (partial opening of the sliding gate)
Button 3 is for the party mode feature (to cancel the auto close for a particular cycle - for automatic close users)
Button 4 is vacant allowing the user to pair in an APC receiver into another device such as a garage door.
PE Safety Sensor Connection
Energy star output, with zero consumption in standby to conserve power. PE Safety sensor connection is highly recommended.
Adjustable Auto-Close Timer
Adjustable Auto Close time up to 3 minutes. If automatic close is switched on, PE Safety Sensors are recommended as a safety precaution to stop the gate from closing if there is a car or object in the sensors view.
Party Mode (For Automatic Close Users)
The automatic closing can be cancelled for a particular cycle using button 3 on any of the remote controls when expecting a visitor to arrive. For example, if expecting a visitor to arrive, number 3 can be pressed on the remote control whilst the gate is still in the open position and the gate will remain open until the remote is pressed again.
Motor Speed Adjustments
Adjustable motor speed allowing the user to adjust the fast and slow speeds of the motor.
Built in overcurrent adjustments allow for further adjustment to suit all gate sizes and weight.

Connection of a DC light
Connection of a DC light using up to 20W, this output is active during the opening and will stay active until the gates are closed.
Please note: In a DC or Low Voltage application, connection of a DC light requires an additional power supply to be used due to the high power consumption.
